Sherry L. Davis

Dispute Resolution Experience and Training

Sherry Davis has been mediating marital and non-marital disputes involving property, financial, custody and parenting issues since 2001. She mediates disputes that arise in the traditional family context as well as in gay/lesbian and unmarried partnerships. She also mediates elder parent disputes involving family members. She is very experienced in the collaborative family law process and negotiates marital cases to conclusion without litigation. She conducts mediation sessions at two office locations: downtown Cincinnati and Warren/Butler County.

Ms. Davis attended Salmon P. Chase College of Law and was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1985. She received her mediation training through the Mediation Training & Consultation Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since 1998, she has participated in yearly mediation/collaborative law training workshops both locally and nationally.

Professional Experience

Since 1995, Ms. Davis has practiced primarily in the family law area, handling cases in the domestic relations and juvenile courts. Her current practice focuses on mediation and collaborative family law. Ms. Davis' experience also includes over 20 years in civil litigation, including medical malpractice defense.

Selected Honors, Awards, Publications and Professional and Civic Memberships

Ms. Davis is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She is a 1997 founding member of the Collaborative Family Law Section of the Collaborative Law Center in Cincinnati. She has served on the Cincinnati Bar Association Grievance Committee, the Collaborative Family Law Steering Committee and is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Woman's City Club. She co-authored the article "Untying The Knot: Non-Litigation Models in Family Law" that was published in the Cincinnati Bar Association Report in July of 2004.
