Dispute Resolution Experience and Training
Bea Larsen is a Senior Mediator at the Center and has mediated over 750 disputes, primarily divorces and post-divorce conflicts. Ms. Larsen was trained as an attorney at Salmon P. Chase College of Law (1969). She was trained in mediation and negotiation at Harvard Law School, the Center for Dispute Settlement, the Divorce and Marital Stress Clinic and the Erickson Mediation Institute.
Ms. Larsen has been a mediator with the Center for Resolution of Disputes since 1988 when the Center was established. She began her legal career as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Cincinnati, was Associate Director of the Model Cities Law Office and Director of the Public Defender Division of the Legal Aid Society of Cincinnati from 1974 to 1979. Since 1980 Ms. Larsen has practiced law and mediated primarily in the domestic relations area. She also assists couples who wish to stay together but seek to redesign their relationship.

Ms. Larsen was President of the Cincinnati Bar Association in 1986-87. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and served on the Ohio Supreme Court Committee on Dispute Resolution. She is a co-founder of the Collaborative Law Center, serves on the Jewish Hospital Board of Trustees, and for a number of years was a commentator on WVXU FM. Ms. Larsen has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame in 1988, the Cincinnati Bar Association Trustees Award in 1994, the Ohio State Bar Association Nettie Cronise Lutes Award in 1997, the Cincinnati Bar Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, and the Cincinnati Bar Association John P. Kiley Professionalism Award in 2007.
